Valley REC to hold seventh annual golf tournament June 28
Valley Rural Electric Cooperative will host its seventh annual benefit golf tournament Thursday, June 28 at the Huntingdon Country Club, 10305 Raystown Road, Huntingdon. Organized by Valley REC's Health and Wellness Committee, which has raised more than $115,000 for charities since 2010, the outing will benefit two area children, Lincoln Duvall and Owen Davison.
Six-year-old Lincoln has a rare chromosome deletion that has caused several complications since birth. The son of Tom and Amy Duvall of Huntingdon, Lincoln has had numerous surgeries and will likely need more as he grows older. The family has two other children, Saylor and Jayden, and is expecting their fourth in June.
Three-year-old Owen, diagnosed with a Wilms tumor on his right kidney, is recovering from the removal of the tumor and kidney last year. The son of Gary and Nicole Davison of Hollidaysburg, Owen recently completed radiation and chemotherapy treatments and will require regular trips to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh for routine scans. The family has one other child, an older son named Carter.
