As much as Valley Rural Electric Cooperative's employees pride themselves on providing reliable service, there are times when outages happen. Severe storms can send tree limbs crashing onto power lines, wayward wildlife can short-circuit transformers, and motor-vehicle accidents can topple poles. It's times like those when a standby generator earns its keep.
Through its Valley Rural Energy Services, the co-op sells and installs Generac® automatic standby generators. VRES offers many different sizes of Generac generators and types of transfer switches, including a liquid propane-powered 22 kW whole-house unit with a 200-amp transfer switch. Installation includes a whole-house transfer switch to ensure that the generator does not back feed co-op lines, a situation that endangers line workers and equipment.
Generac generators feature removable front and side panels for quick maintenance access. The units feature a RhinoCoat™ powder-coated finish and corrosion-resistant aluminum, so they can withstand the weather. They also come with a limited seven-year warranty.
Contact our electricians at 800-432-0680 for more information if you are considering a generator for backup power.
